INVERNESS, FL/REDGRANITE-Charlotte V. Matott, age 87, formerly of Redgranite, died on Tuesday, February 13, 2001 at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, Florida.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Foster Road Cemetery, Redgranite, Wisconsin. The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family with arrangements.
Charlotte was born on May 12, 1913 in Baraboo, Wi, the daughter of Lawrence and Elizabeth (McCann) Braun. She was married to George Parker from May 14, 1937 until his death on September 1, 1971.
Charlotte lived in Redgranite and worked at Kolpin Brothers Sporting Goods until her retirement. She remained in Redgranite until 1979, at which time she moved to Madison.
On June 6, 1980, she was married to Maurice Matott and since that time had lived between Wisconsin, New York, and Florida. Charlotte and Maurice had lived in Citrus Springs for the past few years, only recently moving to Inverness. Throughout her life, Charlotte enjoyed sewing, cooking and especially reading.
Charlotte is survived by her husband, Maurice; two sons, Dayton (Merry) Parker, Muskegon, Michigan, and Darrell (Mary) Parker, Portage, Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Timothy (Alicia) Parker, Ravena, Michigan and Dawn Parker, Muskegon; two great-grandchildren, Brina and Jaden Parker; step-sons, Russell (Barbara) Matott, Inverness, and Jeff (Linda) Matott, Dekalb Junction, New York; her sister, Eva Davis, Carlsbad, California; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George Parker, three sisters, Betty Jane Hilliard, Fern Quinn and Winifred Tapendorf, and three brothers-in-law, Frank Hilliard, Henry Tapendorf, and Joseph Davis.
