1881 Jan 19 Republican OBIT: It is with pain and regret that we announce the death of Edmond Deer, an acquaintance and highly esteemed friend of many long years. He died at his residence at Rockport Mills, in this county, after an illness of only one brief week. The deceased was an honest, intelligent, genial gentleman.

Whereas, It has pleased the Supreme Grand Master to call from among us our beloved brother, Edmond Deer, and Whereas, In the further continuance of our brotherly love and obedience to the tenets of our profession, be it therefore
Resolved, That in the loss of our brother, Edmond Deer, the family has lost a kind and loving brother and son; his wife and children a kind and indulgent husband and father, to whom in their afflictions we extend our sympathies; our lodge and society an honored member whose devotion to the precepts and principles were manifested by brotherly love and Chistian charity toward all.
Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions under the seal of the Lodge be furnished the family of our deceased brother, and also a copy to each of the county papers.
