Campbell, Harvey A devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather and retired owner and operator of H.H. Campbell Asphalt Paving Co., he died at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. He was 79, a resident of Baton Rouge, former resident of Natchez, Miss., and a native of Stewart, Miss. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 20. Graveside service at Natchez City Cemetery, Natchez, at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, conducted by Deacon Timothy McElderry. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mabel McClain Campbell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joan C. and Timothy McElderry, Charlotte, N.C., and Terry C. and Larry "Bear" Hebert, Baton Rouge; a son and daughter-in-law, Daniel H. and Becky K. Campbell, Baton Rouge; two sisters, Sue Logan of Natchez, and Jeanette Roman of Fayetteville, Ark.; a brother, Warren Haynes, Calhoun City, Miss.; and four grandchildren, Kenneth, Kristie and Keith McElderry and Michelle Hebert. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Harvey Campbell; and stepfather and mother, Horace and Ora Lee Haynes. Pallbearers will be his nephews and grandsons. He was of the Baptist faith.
