A Chevron employee for almost 20 years, Nola Mary Wolf was well known in the Petaluma community as the co-owner of Wolf's Christmas Tree Farm on Liberty Road.

Mrs. Wolf died suddenly on Feb. 24, 2012 when a vehicle ran off the rode, struck and killed her during a family outing at Sonoma Canopy Tours near Camp Meeker. She was 61.

Mrs. Wolf worked in information technology systems at Chevron in Richmond for 17 years. She and her husband, Chuck Wolf, also owned and operated the Christmas tree farm for 20 years on the Liberty Road property they lived on.

She was a longtime member of the Sonoma County Human Services Commission and was doing contract work for Chevron from home while helping her husband in his financial planning work and, until last year, a tax service he ran. They were both planning on retiring soon.

Mrs. Wolf is survived by her husband, Chuck (Charles J.) Wolf, of Petaluma; mother, Ruth Thackery of New Point, Ind.; siblings, Terry Thackery of Springboro, Ohio and Thomas Thackery of Mahtowa, Minn.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 1, followed by prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory, 850 Keokuk Street, Petaluma. Burial will take place in Batesville, Ind.

Born Sept. 7, 1950 in Batesville, she is the daughter of Ruth (Brack) Thackery and the late Oscar Thackery. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Crossroads. She was a member of the Human Service Commission in Sonoma, Calif. for 10 years and Treasurer of the Camera Club in Petaluma, Calif. She was in the first class to graduate from North Decatur High School. She attended Hanover College and received her Masters Degree from Ball State University in Library Science.

Devoted wife of Chuck Wolf of Petaluma, Calif. Cherished daughter of Ruth Thackery of New Point, Loving sister of Terry (Hope) Thackery of Springboro, Ohil and Thomas (Jen) Thackery of Mahtowa, Minn. Caring Aunt of Joseph and William Thackery, Debbie (Tim) Mack, Jennifer (Andy) Scheele and Richard (Susan) Krieger. Beloved Sister-in-law of Mary Lou (Eugene) Krieger. Also survived by 7 loving great nieces and nephews.
