Funeral services for Thomas Layton West of Carrollton, formerly of Greenville, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Winona, with burial following in the Crape Creek Cemetery near Stewart. Rev. William F. Stout, OFM, will officiate the services.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 10, from 9:00 a.m. until service time, at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. West died of cancer at his residence on Tuesday, March 6, 2012. He was 68 years old.
Mr. West was the son of the late Earl and Elizabeth Gallagher West. He was a retired industrial engineer, having last worked at Screw Conveyor Corporation in Winona. He was a communicant of the Catholic church in Greenville. Mr. West was an avid gardener and loved to hunt. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Diane West of Carrollton; two daughters, Jackie West Cantor and her husband, Jeff, of North Royalton, Ohio, and Christina Marie West of Ohio; three sons, Thomas Layton West, Jr., of Ohio, Blake Morgan and his wife, Vicki, of Flowood, and Derek Morgan of Vicksburg; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Wills, Bobby Carson, Stewart Mitchell, Charlie Downs, Jeff Cantor, and Hunter Swafford.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.
