Dora was born on May 11, 1932 in Fort Sumner to the home of Pedro and Josefita (López) Sena.
Dora was raised in Fort Sumner where she attended school. Dora married Arsenio Aragón in 1963 in Clovis, NM. They made their home in Clovis in 1969. Dora worked for many years at the Snazzy Pig Restaurant in Clovis.
Dora was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis, NM. Dora enjoyed word puzzles, listening to her police scanner, reading the newspapers and playing bingo.
Dora was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, Pete Sena Jr. and Charlie Sena, a sister, Mary Velarde, a sister-in-law, Lucy Sena, three brothers-in-law, Paul Velarde, Steve Gutiérrez and James Baca.
Survivors include two sisters, Delia Gutiérrez of Albuquerque and Josie Baca of Clovis. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Rosary services for Dora Aragon will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Paul Nkumbi officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Peter Gallegos, Albert Sena, Aron Anchondo, David Rael, Sedrick Rael and Ryan Mares.
The family prefers memorial contributions, in memory of Dora, to the Fort Sumner Cemetery Association, PO Box 180, Fort Sumner, NM 88119.
