Clara Ellen Conrad daughter of Augustus M. Conrad and Ameila Wagaman married Upton B. Brown son of William F. Brown and Susanna J. Berklite.

They had children:
(1.) Bessie Alice Brown b. 22 July 1877-d. 20 October 1937 had a daughter out of wedlock, Hortense V. "Corty" Pryor raised by her grandparents as their own child. Hortense married Welty C. Brown. Bessie Alice later married the child's father Walter Robert Pryor Aka Charles David Pryor, they had a daughter Beulah M. Pryor around 1898 and a son Howard Clayton Pryor b. about 1901. the marriage ended in divorce in 1903. These two children appear in the 1910 Census in Charles Alvin Whitmore's household at Rocky Ridge and bearing the surname "Whitmore." Then they drop from sight, and most online trees ignore them. They clearly were born before Bessie married Whitmore and before she obtained her divorce from Walter Robert Pryor. Bessie's (second) marriage Charles Alvin Whitmore and removed to Rocky Ridge, Frederick County, MD., Charles Alvin Whitmore was the son of George Reuben Whitmore and Mary Jane Newcomer.
(2.) Joseph Edgar Brown b. 6 November 1879- d. 17 December 1952 married Linnie Mae Wilhide. daughter of Josiah Edward Wilhide and Julia Susan Freeze.
(3.) Ivan Milton Brown b. 29 December 1881- d. 6 Dec 1965 married Alta Mae Royer daughter of John Royer and Amanda Jane Warbuton. They residence Lantz, Frederick County, MD.
(4.) Nettie Pear Brown b. 27 April 1890- d. 29 December 1984 married Raymond Talbert Harbaugh son of Alvey J. Harbaugh and Mary A. Brown.
(5.) Minnie A. "Hoot" Brown b. 7 April 1884- d. 3 November 1978 married Murray Clifford Harbaugh son of Walter Hamiliton Harbaugh and Sarah Jane (Harbaugh). Residence Highfield, Washington County, MD. Lived beside her brother Charles Wachter Brown.
(6.) Elmer Walton Brown b. 13 May 1889- d. 13 September 1839 married Ruth M. Meader they removed to Peoria, Peoria County, Illinois.
(7.) Albert C. Brown b. 27 October 1887- d. 9 January 1905 unmarried.
(8.) Russell Alvey "Gusty" Brown b. 1 February-d. 28 February 1979 (first) married Helen Grace Smith daughter of Lewis "Calvin" Smith and Nancy Savilla Miller marriage ended in divorce (second) marriage Catherine Wolf Timmons.
(9.) Bertha A. Ellen Brown b. 12 September 1885- b. 24 November1905 unmarried.
(10.) Charles Wachter "Pete" Brown b. 8 September 1894- d. 15 March 1958 married Esther Bland McGlaughlin daughter of Charles"Herbert" McGlaughlin and Amanda Marie Smith. They resided at Highfield, Washington County, MD.
(11.) Hortence V. " Corty" Pryor b. 30 August 1896- d. 2 February 1933 raised by the Brown family as their child. Born out of wedlock daughter to Bessie A. Brown and Walter Robert Pryor Aka Charles David Pryor. Hortence married Welty C. Brown, son of H. Calvin Brown and Linnie M. Wolfe.
(12.) Agnes Oneda "Aggie" Brown b. 7 January 1904- d. 12 Decembe1995, married Merle Leo Willard and removed to Oakland, Garrett County, Maryland.
