ATKINS, CONNIE GAIL COX - age 49 of Luttrell, passed away March 3, 2012 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by: father, Willie D. Cox Sr.; brother, Jimmy R. Cox Sr.; father-in-law John Hinkle. Survivors: loving husband, Jeff Atkins; mother Opal Cox; brother, David Cox; nieces, Julie Cox Dillie, Courtney Cox Holt; nephews, Jimmy Cox Jr, Taylor Cox; great nieces and nephews, Morgan Woolard Wilson, Tucker Woolard, Nikki and Abby Cox, Kelsey and Jackson Holt; mother-in-law, Shirley Hickle; brothers-in-law, Jerry and Jackie Atkins; sister-in-law, Jennifer Atkins; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends, and her special canine "Woody". The family would like to express their appreciation to the Tennessee Cancer Center Staff, the 4th floor staff at North Knoxville Medical Center, as well as Tennova Hospice Facility, that cared for her throughout her illness. Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 5 with funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. in Cooke Chapel. Reverend Steve Tharp, and Reverend Fred Goodson officiating. Interment 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Cox Cemetery. Music by Cedar Grove Quartet. Pallbearers: Robert Dukes, James Hensley, Kenny Dillie, Brian Holt, Taylor Cox, and Tucker Woolard.
