SOUTH NORFOLK - Abner C. Brickhouse, 54, of 1710 Portlock Road, died Friday at 8:25 a.m. in a Norfolk hospital after a short illness, He was employed as a mechanic at the Naval Base.
A native of Tyrrell County, N.C, he had lived here the last 50 years. He was a son of Benjamin F. Brickhouse and the late Victoria Brickhouse.
Besides his father, surviving are his wife, Mrs. Marian L. Brickhouse; two sons, Ken Edward Brickhouse and Robert H. Brickhouse; four daughters, Misses Agnes L. Brickhouse, Betty J. Brickhouse, Alice A. Brickhouse and Susan A. Brickhouse, all of South Norfolk; four brothers, B.F. Brickhouse Jr., James F. Brickhouse, both of Norfolk County; Travis Brickhouse of South Norfolk and Robert Brickhouse of Portsmouth and two grandchildren.
He was a member of Woodmen of the World Chapter 45.
The body was taken to the Sykes Funeral Home, where funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. Burial will be n Riverside Memorial Park.
