Edna Lorene Dunn of Midland passed away on February 28, 2012, in Fort Worth, Texas. At 94 she had out lived her five siblings. She was born in Bowie, Texas, on June 13, 1917, where she lived until the late 1930s when she moved to Midland.

She is survived by her three children: Frances Soliz and her husband Arthur of San Gabriel, California, Virginia Plummer and her husband Keith of Covina, California and Richard Dunn and his wife Randi of Benbrook, Texas. Her six loving grandchildren are Lisa, twins Richie and Dawn, Erin, Ryan and Brian. Already missing their precious G-mama are her adoring great grandchildren: Darian, Devin, Daylon, Chloe, Taylor, Gregory, Anastasia, Caitlyne and Jordan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Dunn, of 62 years in 1997.

Our mother was a woman of many loves and talents. Her family came first and she left us with many fond memories. She farmed and ranched alongside our father east of Midland. She was most happy when she was behind the wheel of her Ford tractor and bragged that she wore out two Ford Tractors! She loved animals, all of her cows had names, and could use a rifle or a pistol, cooked delicious food, made shrewd business deals and as one niece said, "She was as comfortable with her beautiful china as she was changing the oil in her truck and farm equipment." Not having the education she desired, she worked very hard to see that her children had the opportunity. She instilled in her children how to love each other and care for people, especially those in need. She was intolerant of anyone mistreating an animal, a child or an elderly person.
Edna Dunn is the last charter member of the Midland Seventh-day Adventist Church. She was truly a generous Christian woman.

Mother, when God made you He saw that you were perfect and there should never be another like you so He threw away the mold.

As your loving family we are saying goodbye until Jesus comes and we will miss your chocolate pie.

Family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home on Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. A graveside service is planned for Monday, March 5, 2012 at 1:00pm at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home of Midland. Condolences may be made at: www.ellisfunerals.com.
