Deanna Egan 3/16/1937 - 3/4/2004
Deanna Egan Passed away on Thursday, March 4 in Walnut Creek. Deanna was a loving wife and mother. Despite a severe disability, she overcame many obstacles and contributed in many ways to her community and her family. She was president of her homeowner's association. She was talented, creative and wise crafting beautiful things and providing much appreciated support and love to her friends and family. She was a typist for the Oakland Dioceses for 20 years. Her will, strength and determination radiated in a way so rare that all who crossed paths with her admired her qualities, including her devotion to social justice issues, especially a strong opposition to the death penalty. She is survived by her husband, Jerry, of 44 years, her loving children: Mary, Patrick and Maureen and grandchildren, Toshma and Alexander. Services will be held on March 7 at 1:30 at the Mt. Diablo Unitarian Church in Walnut Creek.
