My aunt Margret, one of mom's several cousins. She was quite a lady, whose own life took some tragic turns when her first husband, father of her only son Dieter, passed away in WWII, leaving behind to mourn him his widow and little son.

Aunt Margret remarried on January 14, 1950.

I remember vividly that I loved her and uncle Franz, her second husband, but to some extent, Aunt Margret always seemed a little more distant than her incredibly sweet and much loved sister Inge. It took me a long time to understand that all the tragic happenings in her life made her a little more anxious.

Aunt Margret passed away while on a heath cure in Staufen, Breisgau.

The memories are precious and I think of Aunt Margret and Uncle Franz with much love, glad to be able to call them my family.
