Survived by wife, Bobbie Lee Sanchez Ackman, Bayou Pigeon; two daughters and a son-in-law, Amanda and Mark McAlister, Bayou Pigeon, and Lahoma Ackman and fiance, Leon Torregrossa, Bayou Pigeon; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Johnny and Tamie Ackman, Pierre Part, Michael and Dale Ackman, both of Bayou Pigeon; six sisters, Emelda Blanchard, Belle River, Hazel Gros, Isabel Ackman, Nora Cavalier and Jeannie Metrejean, all of Pierre Part, and Norma Hernandez, Walker; two brothers, Helman Ackman and Clarfa Ackman Jr., both of Pierre Part; and five grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Howard Joseph Ackman Jr.; parents, Clarfa Sr. andCeline Coupel Ackman.
