Mrs. Eliza Osee Enyart Adams was born in Bureau Co. Ill. Dec. 12, 1848 where she lived with her parents until 1873 when she was united in marriage to Geo. W. Adams of Princeton, Ill. To this union was born eight chidren, two sons and six daughters.

Soon after her marriage to Geo. Adams they moved on a homestead in Merrick Co. near Central City, Neb. where they resided until March 1st, 1898. They then moved to Palmer, Neb where they lived until his death May 9th, 1905. From that time she has made her home with her son Harrie Adams of Palmer, Neb. until her death December 22, 1918. At the age of 70 years and 10 days.

She leaves to mourn her loss three daughters and one son. Mrs. J. R. Gugan of Yale, S. D., Mrs. J. Peck, of Clarks, Neb., Harrie E. and Miss Jessie Adams of this place. One sister, Ms. Sidney Hall, Stockville, Neb.

One daughter having died June 28, 1911, one son and two daughters in infancy.

She was a faithful and sacrificing mother. Having come to Neb. among the first settlers, having passed through the grasshopper stage she knew what it meant to sacrifice that her children might be brought to manhood and womanhood and received an education in the prairie State.

In this she succeeded with three daughters and one son, Harrie to whom we especially pay tribute, he having been the staff of her old age, sacrificing as only a good son can do that she might have a good home with every comfort he could provide.

A short funeral service was conducted at the house by Rev. Reeves Dec. 26. she was laid to rest in the Bureau Cemetery at Pierce Chappel.
