SIOUX CITY -- Margaret I. (Haugen) Bever, 91, of Sioux City passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Sunrise Retirement Community. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Morningside Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Kevin Lee officiating. Private family interment will be prior the service Thursday at Garden of Gethsemane in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present at 6 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Avenue. Margaret was born Aug. 9, 1918, in Sioux City, daughter of Andrew and Inga (Sandvold) Haugen. She resided in Sioux City her entire life, and graduated from East High School with the class of 1936. Margaret married W. Harold Bever in 1940, and he preceded her in death in 1986. She was a homemaker, raising her children before working at Younkers for 20 years, retiring in 1982. Margaret was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church, Dorcas Circle, Morning Glories Sewing Group, and she studied with the 30s Bible Study Group for two years. She enjoyed playing cards and line dancing with her friends. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann Weitzel and her husband, Loren of Sioux City; and numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, W. Harold Bever; son, William Bever III; three sisters; and eight brothers. Memorials may be made to the Morningside Lutheran Church in Margaret's name.
