Rites Thursday
Elias Warfield died at the home of his son, Stewart Warfield, 345 South Second avenue, yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock following an illness of four weeks which began with a stoke of paralysis. He suffered a second stroke some time later and gradually sank into a state of coma, from which he never rallied.
Mr. Warfield had passed his 93rd birthday.
Elias Warfield was born October 26, 1832 in Ohio. He was married to Elizabeth Campbell, deceased, and to this union five children were born. They are Stewart and C.H. of canton; O.P. Warfield of Galesburg; C.A. Warfield of Pekin; and Mrs. W.B. Fredericks of Chicago.
Mr. Warfield lived with a daughter in Pekin until last September, having made that place his home for 15 or 20 years. Before that time and since coming from Ohio he had lived in and around Canton. Before he retired he farmed.
The funeral services will be held at the Fisher Funeral home on Thursday at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev. William Kilburne officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
Friends are asked to omit flowers.
