Rachel Jordan Allred, 84, of 4558 Pleasant Garden Rd., went home to be with the Lord Friday, Jan. 28, 2000.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Doug Evans and the Rev. Joe Chandler. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Allred was born Feb. 13, 1915, in Iredell County, to Herbert and Louise Mayberry Jordan. She was a charter member of Northside Church of the Nazarene. She retired from Cone Mills Revolution Plant. Mrs. Allred was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Allred and two grandchildren.

Surviving are daughters, Irene Palusinski of West Palm Beach, Fla., Rilla M. Crane and husband, Dennis of Great Lakes, Va., Marie R. Council and husband William of Greensboro, Anita A. Smith and husband, Joe of Greensboro; sons, Garney W. Allred and wife, Brenda of Greensboro, Allen G. Allred and wife, Hilda of Greensboro, Willie R. Allred and wife, Maxine of Climax, Larry W. Allred and wife, Belvia of Browns Summit, Ronald L. Allred of Greensboro, Donald D. Allred and wife, Brenda of Greensboro, Charles L. Allred and wife, Kay of Summerfield, James Cecil Allred and wife, Lynn of Summerfield and Timothy Allred and wife, Debbie of Greensboro; sisters, Beulah Redman and Gay White, both of Union Grove, Faye Walsh of Ferguson; brothers, Richard Jordan and Dwight Jordan, both of Union Grove; 35 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service.
