Mary Miller passed away surrounded by her three children on Monday, February 2, 2004 at her home in Pomona. She was 83 years old. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Miller Wills of Concord, CA; her daughter, Marjorie Archer of La Verne and her son, Dr. Stephen Lee Miller of Johnstown, PA. Mary also has a sister, Emily Binns Smith of Vancouver, WA and seven grandchildren. Mary was born in Columbus, Ohio where she graduated from Ohio State University. Since 1950 she and her husband, Clyde Miller made their home in California. Mary lived in the communities of San Diego, West Covina, La Verne, and Pomona. After graduating from Immaculate Heart Library School, Mary first worked at the Pomona Library and then held several positions at the Los Angeles County Library System. She was librarian in charge at West Covina and then assistant administrator of several libraries in the region. One of Mary's greatest joys and interests was the music program and choir at the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Pomona. She has been a member there for almost 50 years. She was dearly loved and respected and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A memorial service in honor of her life will be held at the Pilgrim Congregational Church, 600 N. Garey Ave., Pomona, CA on Saturday, March 6, 2004 at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow. Memorial contributions can be made in Mary's memory to the Music Program at Pilgrim Congre gational Church, Habitat for Humanity, or The House of Ruth, Ontario, CA. Todd Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
