Mrs. Margaret McCreery, 75 years old, widow of John McCreery, died yesterday afternoon in her home after an illness of pneumonia. Mrs. McCreery was a daughter of John and Martha Ballowe, pioneer settlers of Union County. Mrs. McCreery was born in Union County, June 27, 1850. She was educated at St. Vincent's Academy of Union County, one of the oldest educational institutions in the state. She was married in 1865 to John McCreery. She is survived by four children, Mrs. Ed Grouse, of St. Louis. MO, Mrs. T. W. Roberts, of Cleveland; Fred and Earl McCreery, of Paducah, all of whom were at her bedside when the end came. Three sisters and two brothers survive. They are Mrs. A. Long, of Jackson, Tenn., Mrs. J. L. Dunn, of Blytheville, Ark., Mrs. J. S. Cosby of St. Louis, William Ballowe of Jackson, Tenn., and George Ballowe of Jackson, Mich. Mrs. McCreery was a devout member of the St. Francis de Sales Catholic church. She was a woman with traits of character which won her many friends. The remains will be removed from the residence of her son, Fred McCreery, to the. Catholic church at 10 o'clock, tomorrow morning.
