Mrs. Doris Margie Love Bowman died Tuesday February 28, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC. She was born in Surry County on June 29, 1930 to the late Aldie L. and Margie Vaughn Love. Doris has been married to O. L. Bowman for 62 Years. They have two sons: Joe Bowman and his wife June of Wendell, NC. and Mark Bowman and his wife Cindy of Greensboro, NC., two daughters: Laura Brock of Mt. Airy, NC. and Margie Abbitt and her husband Mac of Lakeville, IN., and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Doris worshiped with the First Presbyterian Church for 62 years and later became a charter member of Covenant Reformed Presbyterian Church of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents Mrs. Bowman is preceded in death by a son-in-law Randy Brock and her brother Col. Warren G. (Fed) Love. Graveside services will be held at Oakdale Cemetery Saturday March 3, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. with services conducted by Rev. Brenton Ferry. There will be no formal visitation. The body will lie in state at Moody Funeral home until time to be taken to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Covenant Reformed Presbyterian Church 495 S. Franklin Rd. Mt. Airy, NC. 27030 and any food items be given to Yokefellow Food Pantry. Doris expressed her appreciation to her caregivers for the past several years, her husband O. L., Dr. Nelson Gardner, Suzanne Brock and Douglas Driskill.
