My Mother-in-law...Dorothy was the daughter of Willis D. and Matilda "Tilda" Clark (Lagoe) She was one of 10 children born to Willis and Tilda Clark in Redfield,Oswego,New York. Dorothy married Herbert P. Ayer and had three children, James,Steven and Bradley. Dorothy worked as a nurse and was very loving and caring towards her patients. My mother-in-law was an outspoken lady,if she had something to say-she would. She was also quite the character! On one occasion she was trying to "fix" up her kitchen with some pink paint. As she got over by the old frig, she said (Well,I can't tell you "EXACTLY" what she said, but let's just say the frig looked better pink when she got through with it! Another situation was when one of her sons had this old beat-up car in the yard that didn't run. She had asked him several times to haul it away because she didn't want to look at it any longer, well he didn't move it. So, Dorothy went out back with some lighter fluid and matches....yeah,that's right, then calmly walked back into the house and called the fire dept, to report a vehicle fire. The car was towed away and she was a happy woman. Never a dull moment. Dorothy also ended up raising four of her grandchildren which was difficult for a woman her age. She dearly loved these four girls, but it did take it's toll on her life.My mother-in-law didn't have an easy life, but before she left this world she asked Jesus Christ to be her Lord and Savior. We will see you in Heaven one of these days! And I don't think The Lord will ever let you play with "MATCHES!"
