GLENDALE, Calif. (AP)- Thelma Connor Gary, one of the singing Connor twins who made a splash at the Ziegfeld Follies in the 1920s, died Friday at the age of 75.

Memorial Hospital spokeswoman Barbara Wood said Mrs. Gary died of congestive heart and kidney failure.
Mrs. Gary and her identical twin sister, the former Velma Connor, were goddaughters of actor Jack Haley and his wife.

They were signed by impresario Florenz Ziegfeld, making their debut in the Follies in 1922.

The twins rose to fame singing songs by such composers as Irving Berlin and Victor Herbert, and appeared in the Follies for seven years, sharing the bill with the likes of Will Rogers, Fannie Brice, Al Jolson and Eddie Cantor.

They introduced the song "Ramona" in London, played Siamese twins in the film . "Reckless" with William Powell and Jean Harlow.

Mrs. Gary subsequently had a stroke, the effects of which lingered. In 1971 she lost her right leg and in 1979 her left.

Mrs. Gary was the widow of actor Charles Gary.
