Lucretie Garfield Lambert Smith Carr

Lucretie was a daughter of Albinus Lambert Sr and Susan Elizabeth Calhoun. She was a caregiver of Robert Lee Smith's children from his first marriage. After the death of his wife Robert married Lucretie. She had nine children by him.

Clarence Smith (1901-1903)
Floda Alice Smith (1903-1987)
Anna Smith (1906-1987)
Sarah Smith (1908-2003)
Joseph Daniel Smith (1910-1999)
Stephen Smith (1912-1938)
Robert A Smith (1914-1984)
Dora Smith (Twin to Calora) (1916-1917)
Calora Smith (1916-2007)

According to her children, she and Noah Carr had lived together for many years before finally settling into marriage.

Upon writing the State of West Virginia Vital Records to obtain a Birth Certificate for Lucretie, I had received a return letter that stated, "due to the Civil War, floods, fire many records were destroyed. And her record could not be found."

Her date of birth is taken from the Smith Family Bible. And her daughter (My Grandma) Calora, was given a copy by her eldest sister Sarah. Calora had made copies for her children, her daughter, my mother Shirley gave me a copy of the family Bible and records.
