All the children and grandchildren rumored that Clarissa may not have been her name since her birth certificate bears no name. Everyone jokes that she may not have liked the name her parents called her and she just decided to change it to Clarissa!!
She married Duane D. Allen on April 15, 1914 in Chester, VT.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons Albert, an infant, Claude, and Harland.
She is survived by sons Dennis and Duane, Jr. and daughters Lillian and Esther; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Interment will be in Pine Grove in Springfield, VT.

A birthday party was recently held at Legion Hall Post 25 to honor Mr. Clarissa Allen of Cedar Manor on her 90th birthday. The five-tier cake was made by her grandson Claude Raymond Allen and was decorated by Richard Duncan, both of Windsor. Buffet lunch was enjoyed by 80 friends and relatives from Virginia, Vermont, and New Hampshire. five generations were presented, represented by Mrs. Allen, her daughter Esther Lord of Virginia, granddaughter Dianna Howard, great-granddaughter Kathi Rheaume and great-great-granddaughter Kerri Amanda Rheaume, all of Charlestown, NH. Congratulations came from President and Mrs. Ronald Reagan.
