Kenneth Koops went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 15, 2012; he was eighty years old. His family loved him dearly and will miss him very much. We are comforted knowing he is with Jesus. Kenny will be remembered for his love of family and fun; his laughter still rings in our ears. Dad's choice to live with his sweetheart in a memory care facility is a tremendous example of his loving faithfulness to his bride.

Kenny was born November 14, 1931 in Sioux Center, Iowa, the fifth child of William and Bertha Koops. He served in the National Guard for four years.

Kenny married his sweetheart, Arlene Danielson from South Dakota, on October 7, 1951. This past October they celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary. The Lord blessed them with five children, twenty grandchildren, and twenty-six great-grandchildren.

Kenny opened up a service station in Sioux Center, Iowa when they were first married. In 1958, the family moved to Southern California, where he worked for Bill Verhoeven's service station. Later he became a tire salesman for Lord Tire in Bellflower.

Favorite Bible verse: Psalm 121. Favorite hymn: "How Great Thou Art".

Kenny is survived by his precious wife, Arlene; children: Darla Bulthuis (Ben), David Koops (Teresa), Rick Koops (Debbie), Randy Koops (Cheryl), and Tammy Slotterbeck; brother: Harold Koops (Corky); grandchildren: Everett Bulthuis, Emily Wolfe, Erynn Perez, Amberlyn Austin, Christopher Koops, Dustin Koops, Kenny Koops, Jeffrey Koops, Troy Liggett, Jason Koops, Joreen Mensonides, Tawnya Van Houten, Kimberly Koops, Cheralyn Koops, Justin Koops, Jonathan Koops, Jeran Eden, Tymree Fleming, Troy Fleming, and Trevor Slotterbeck; and twenty-six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by siblings: Bernie Koops (Casey), Herm Koops (Dora), Jim Koops (Jo), Jan Moret (Harold), and Willie Koops (Mary).

A viewing will be held at Bethel Reformed Church in Bellflower on Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
Graveside services will be held in the Artesia Cemetery on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.
