US Congressman. Graduated from Lombard College, Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois in 1889, engaged in the manufacture of proprietary medicines and in banking. He was the trustee of the University of Illinois, 1908 to 1914, elected as a Republican to the Sixty-seventh and Sixty-eighth Congresses, March 4, 1921 to March 3, 1925. He declined to be a candidate for reelection and resumed his former business pursuits in Monticello, Illnois. In 1939 he moved to San Antonio, Texas, and worked in oil development until his death there.
