Dorothy passed away at her home after a short bout with cancer. She was born in the Cass City area at the home of her parents, the late Ray and Laura (Wooley) Kilbourn. On November 28, 1953, she was united in marriage to Vernon Beachy in Detroit. They lived in Detroit for a short time, moving to Gagetown in 1954, then to Bay Port and later to Pigeon, where they made their home for most of their lives. Dorothy worked as a secretary many years for Kraft, Inc. in Pigeon and then several years for Active Feed Company, retiring in 2003. She was a member of the Michigan Avenue Mennonite Church in Pigeon where she had been a member of the Friendship Circle, served on various committees and was church treasurer in past years. Dorothy was an avid golfer and especially enjoyed her family and spoiling her grandchildren.
