Composer. His father was a musician who encouraged the musical aspirations of his son. Between the ages of 14 and 23 he dedicated to his time to the creation of danceable music and regional pieces. He won First prize in a literary-musical contest in 1877. The most important contribution of Braulio Dueño-Colón to Puerto Rican culture were the collections of scholastic songs that wrote specifically for the schools of the country, with texts by the poets Virgilio Dávila and Manuel Fernandez Juncos. One of these songs was his famous "La Tierruca". He died in Bayamón, where he lived all of his life.
