Asher Agee was the son of Benjamin Coats and Sarah Elizabeth Lady Agee. His parents were both from DeKalb County, MO, emigrating separately to Yamhill Co, OR in the early 1850s, marrying, then moving to Douglas County, OR. There were 14 children between them.

Asher Agee married Frances Maude Broom, June 6 1906 in Multnomah Co., OR, and had two children, Orval Donavan and Clifton Clinton.

In 1910 Asher draft registration shows him in Dixonville, Douglas Co, OR. In 1920 (Mt. Scott) and 1930 census they were shown in Douglas County, OR.
