Gertrud e L. "Gertie" Carr, 87, of 101 Alton Street Danville, PA died Thursday morning, October 20, 2005 at Geisinger Medical Center in the presence of her beloved family. She was born November 17, 1917 in Danville, PA the daughter of the late Phillip and Emily Kelly Snyder.
Mrs. Carr was a self-employed beautician for 50 years and continued to do hair until the day she passed. Her life revolved around her family whom she adored. She will be very sadly missed by them all.
She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Carr in 1990.
Surviving are two daughters Emily Shepperson of Danville, PA and Beverly Jensen of Seattle, WA; grandchildren; Tammy, Tina, Theresa & Timothy. She is also survived by three grandchildren; Samuel Hummer and his wife Christine of Muncy, PA; Cynthia Riegel and fiance Michael Pega of Danville, PA and Richard Quick and his two sons of Georgetown, Kentucky. Also surviving are great- grandchildren; Emily, Stephanie, Kristen, Ryan and Samuel Hummer, Jr. of Danville, PA; Shiloe Drumheller and her husband Christopher of Sunbury, PA; Wade Westley and Shayne Deska of Danville. Two great-great-grandchildren; Aden Delaney of Danville, PA and Jennifer Drumheller of Sunbury also survives her. She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 24, 2005 at 11:00 AM from Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 10 W. Mahoning Street Danville, PA with the Reverend Dennis W. Derr Trinity United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery Danville, PA. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
