Death Record Book H-23, Page 28
Obituary
William F. Bell died Thursday, January 12th, 1899, at the age of 21 years, 4 months, and 27 days. The deceased was the son of Mr. & Mrs. James K. Bell, who reside about one mile south of town, and is the first of the family of eleven children to give up this world of care, for that "Land that is fairer than day." On August 27th, 1898, he united with the Church of Christ at the place, and was a faithful member. Faithful, prompt, and efficient in the discharge of all the duties of life, the death of this gentleman, just at the threshold of manhood, with all of life's brightest promises before him fills all hearts with sadness, and the sincere sympathies of our people are with the parents and other relatives in this, the dark hour of their affliction. The burial took place at Pleasant Ridge Saturday, and the funeral will be preached at the Church of Christ sometime in the near future. Owing to heavy rains and the delay of trains, it was impossible for their pastor to come in time to hold the funeral before the burial.
