Lanesboro Area Farmer Dies Of Bulbar Polio
P. T. Abrahamson 1st Fillmore Co. Death This Year
Lanesboro, Minn.--The first polio fatality in Fillmore County this year was recorded Friday night at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, with the death of Perlam T. Abrahamson, 24, Lanesboro area farmer. Abrahamson entered the hospital Wednesday night with bulbar type polio.
Born April 15, 1929, in Fillmore County, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul W. Abrahamson, south of Lanesboro. A graduate of Lanesboro High School in 1946, he attended the College of Agriculture, University of Minnesota two years.
Abrahamson was married Sept. 18, 1949, to the former Pauline Gjerdrum. Two daughters survive, Suzanne and Martha. Also surviving are his parents and one sister, Mrs. Wayne (Clara) Johnson, Whalen.
Abrahamson was active in 4-H club work in Fillmore County and a lifelong member of the Elstad Lutheran Church south of Lanesboro.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the home of his parents and at 2 p.m. at the Elstad Lutheran Church, the Rev. I. R. Gronlid officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
