Infant son of US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He was the third child and second son of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, born on March 18, 1909. Franklin Jr. was never a very healthy baby, and was listless and seemed to suffer from jaundice. In September 1909, all three Roosevelt children -- Anna (age three), James (age two), and Franklin Jr. -- had the flu. Franklin Jr. was left weak by it, and in October a doctor diagnosed a heart murmur and endocarditis (an inflammation of the heart). Although he seemed to rally for a while, he died at 7:25 AM on November 7, 1909.
