Born in Barrington, R.I., son of the late Alphonse and Corrinne (Noel) Boutin, he lived in Swansea for more than 40 years. He was a communicant of St. Michael's Church. Mr. Boutin was a millwright with Kaiser Aluminum for 31 years, retiring in 1979.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Boutin was a lifetime member of American Legion Post No. 303, Veterans of Foreign Wars, No. 424, a member and past chaplain of the Disabled American Veterans No. 9, all of Swansea, and the Forty and Eight, Elite of the American Legion. He was also a life member of the USS President Jackson Association, the first ship to land troops at Guadalcanal during World War II. Survivors include four sons, William Boutin of Denver, Ronald R. Boutin of Rehoboth, John H. Boutin of Swansea and James E. Boutin of Assonet; two brothers, Henry Boutin of Hudson and Andre Boutin of Cypress Gardens, Calif.; three sisters, Rita Russell of Somerset, Theresa Matezewski of North Tonawanda, N.Y., and Lucille Sirois of Swansea; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Telesphor Boutin, George Boutin, Lena Parent and Beatrice Goyette.
Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery, Swansea.
