The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hedrick's Grove United Church of Christ, where she was a member, by the Rev. John Roberts. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Bowers was born April 8, 1917, in Davidson County to Charles Thomas Everhart and Helen Sowers Everhart. She retired from R.J. Reynolds. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard Clifford Bowers, in 2001; four brothers, Thomas M. Everhart, John Everhart, James Charles Everhart and Roy Frank Everhart; and three sisters, Mamie Everhart King, Sarah Everhart Beck and Fannie Everhart Whitlock.
Surviving are a son, Billy H. Bowers of Lexington; a daughter, Mary Jo Lambert and her husband, Joe Don, of Dayton, Ohio; a brother, Grant Everhart of Lexington; two sisters, Daisy Everhart Swing and Flossie Everhart Berrier, both of Lexington; and five grandchildren, James Bowers, Jacob Bowers, Heather Bowers and Guy Bowers, all of Lexington, and Donette Lambert King and her husband, Greg, of Dayton, Ohio.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the home of the son on Conrad Hill Mine Road.
