Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Rockett Funeral Home.
Mr. Basinger was born on September, 24, 1925 in Fryeburg, LA and passed away on February 13, 2012 at his home in Ringgold. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. While in Belgium, he was captured by the Germans in November of 1944 during the Battle of the Bulge. He was placed in a stalag prison where he spent six months as a POW. He was preceded in death by his parents and all of his brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 62 years, Faye Basinger of Ringgold, LA; his sons and daughters-in-law, David and Amy Basinger of Sibley, LA and Danny and Quana Basinger of Ringgold, LA; four grandchildren, Seth Basinger, Nick Basinger, Chad Basinger, and Kaitlin Kilcrease; two great grandchildren, Alleigh Basinger and Garrett Basinger; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
The military honor guard will serve as pallbearers.
