Helen M. Blaylock, age 96, of Rockford, IL died at 5 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center.
Born April 1, 1915, in Rockford, IL the daughter of Gust and Cecelia (nee Edberg) Klein. Helen worked as a receptionist for Knox Motor Service for 20 years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and attended Salem Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her sons, Steven (Marcia) Blaylock of Roscoe and Kent (Colleen) Blaylock of Tempe, AZ; grandchildren, James (Michelle) Vinci and Jennifer (Michael) Skrade; and great-grandchildren, Ryan and Brinley Vinci, and Alexa and A.J. Skrade.
Predeceased by her brother, Walter; and sister, Myrtle.
Helen's family would like to thank the nurses and support staff at Fairhaven. You were a friend to our mom and touched her heart, and each of you will always have a special place in our hearts. Also thank you to Northern Illinois Hospice for their support and care.
Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center Hospitality Court, 3470 N. Alpine Rd. Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Ltd., Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave. Private family burial in Arlington Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center or Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center, 4215 Newburg Road, Rockford, IL 61108.
