A Mulenberg County native, he was born June 9, 1917, the son of Wheeler and Roberta Wells. He was a member of the Mormon Church.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth of Peoria, Ill., Johnny and Ricky Wells, both of this city; three daughters, Mrs. Rick (Nancy) Hyde, Nashville, Tenn., Mrs. Jerry (Brenda) Taylor, Peoria, and Mrs. Jerry (Hazel) Crenshaw, of this city; two brothers, Bennie of this city and Barnie Wells of this county, two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Miller and Miss Beatrice Wells, both of this county; and 11 grandchildren.
According to the Kentucky Marriage Index, Maltie Wells Grace married my grandfather Burno Lewis Wells on March 15, 1974.
