Mary S. Deep, 81, of Danbury, wife of John Deep, died on Tuesday morning, October 21, 2008 at Danbury Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Deep was born in Utica, NY, January 16, 1927, daughter of Abraham and Mary (Boulos) Saba. She attended Utica schools and graduated from St. Elizabeth College School of Nursing. A Registered Nurse, Mrs. Deep was first affiliated with Marcy Hospital of New York and later at the Danbury Hospital.
A Danbury resident since 1949 coming from Utica, she enjoyed bridge and golf. She was a member of the Wamego Ladies Golf Association and the Monday morning Bridge Club at Elmwood Hall. She was a member of St. Anthony's Maronite Catholic Church of Danbury where she was a past member of the Parish Council, Church Choir, the Mercy Meal Committee, the Anniversary Committee, Bazaar and Hafli Committees as well as the Kitchen Committee. Mrs. Deep was a member of the Diocese of St. Maron Order of St. Sharbel.

In addition to her husband John of 59 years, she is survived by a son; Jack N. Deep and wife Chrissy of New Fairfield, four daughters; Johanne Taft and husband Ted of Wilton, CT, Susan DeSanto of Bethel, Nancy Damici and husband Gary of Danbury and Mary Beth Palmer and husband Keith of New Fairfield, four sisters; Kate Boulos of Sacramento, CA, Isabel Nackley of New Hartford, NY, Bedelia Hobaica of Utica, NY and Edwina Young of Idaho Falls, ID, her sister in law; Rose Saba of New York Mills, NY and ten grandchildren; Lauren Taft, Adam Taft, 1st Lt. Alex Deep, Steven Deep, Taryn Deep, Kathryn Damici, Lindsay Damici, John "JD"Damici, Nicole Palmer and Keith Palmer.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Deep was predeceased by a son in law; Anthony L. DeSanto, a brother; Joseph Saba and by four sisters; Rahja Saba, Victoria Norman, Sadie Koury and Fannie Tamer.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt extraordinaire and friend, she will be sorely missed.

The Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday at 10AM in St. Anthony's Maronite Catholic Church, 17 Granville Ave., Danbury.

Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Thursday from 5PM to 8PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Anthony's Church Scholarship Fund or to one's own favorite charity would be appreciated.
