Arlie was born near Meno in Major Co., Ok Territory, better known as the "Cherokee Strip", prior to statehood. Her parents were William Cornelius and Mary Elizabeth Neff Flatt. Four years later her family had moved to Lincoln Co. They are listed in the 1900 census for Keokuk twp., N.W. of Stroud, Lincoln Co., Oklahoma Territory. She married Hugh Earp on Dec. 26, 1916. They lived all their lives in Lincoln Co., OK. Arlie was a homemaker, farmer's wife, a student of God's Word and a Sunday School teacher, member of the Church of God in Stroud, OK. She and Hughie had four children: Ernest F. Earp, Opal Mary Pounds, Wendell W. Earp, and VeraDene Phillips. Arlie was a fun loving and beloved grandmother. She loved to play games like Chinese checkers,dominoes and softball with the grandkids. One time she raised her skirts and demonstrated how the Sac & Fox women dance!
