This beautiful gravestone predates Fairview Cemetery by 9 years. Burials from the previous cemetery on Stillwater's north hill, at Fourth and Laurel, were relocated to Fairview during the early 1870's.

Wife of Robert W. Peckham. Age 26 years. "My Blessed Wife". Their children, Geo. C. born NY 1854, Jennie born NY 1856. Robert remarried Feb 29, 1860, to Jennie A. Peck. Robert volunteered with Brackett's Battalion of Minnesota Cavalry as 1st Sergeant on Nov. 1st 1861. Promoted to 2nd Lt. Feb 2 1862 then discharged a 1st Lt. in 1866. This cavalry was also known as the 5th Iowa Cav.
