OBIT- 20 April 1957 WATERTOWN DAILY TIMES, Watertown, Jefferson Co, Wisconsin
H.C. Altwies, 78, of route 3, Watertown, passed away at 11:15 o'clock this morning at St Mary's hospital where he had been a patient since 15 April. He had suffered a broken hip at the Jefferson County Hospital at Jefferson, and was brought to the local hospital for care.
Mr Altwies had spent his entire life, with the exception of one year in the town of Farmington. He was the son of Peter and Sarah Altwies. On 23 June 1914 he was married to Lillie Gruennert at Watertown.
Surviving are his widow; three sons, Warren and Wesley at home, and Clifford of this city; two daughters, Mrs Ted Siewert of Sussex and Mrs Willard Degner of Watertown; two brothers, Ellis of Dundee, Illinois; and Ed of Oconomowoc; two sisters, Mrs Emil Vogel of Sullivan and Mrs May Rabenhorst of Milwaukee; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral arrangements are pending.
