OBITUARY

Augusta Ernstine Daye, nee Schultz, was born January 17, 1866 in Crystal Lake, Marquette Co., Wisconsin, and died in the hopes of eternal life, at her home in Westfield, Wisconsin, February 7, 1925 at the age of 59 years and 21 days.

She grew to young womanhood in the town of Crystal Lake, then coming to Westfield to seek employment and has resided in Westfield and community ever since. In 1887 she was united in the bonds of holy matrimony with August Daye, and this union was blessed with two sons and one daughter. After her marriage they located on a farm about two miles west of Westfield. In 1905 they moved to Westfield and have lived in our village since that date.

Mrs. Daye was a devout christian, her faith having a firm hold on God's promises which in the days of her suffering, which was cancer, gave her great consolation to know that God's ways, although sometimes past understanding, are right. She now rests from her labors.

But when the sun in all his state
illuminated the eastern skies,
She passed through Glory's morning gate
And walked in Paradise.

She will be missed by all who knew her, but our loss is her gain.

She leaves to mourn her departure her bereaved husband; two sons, Elmer and Arden of Westfield; one daughter, Mrs. Alvin O. Marks of Hartford, Wisconsin and one grand child, one adopted son, Herman Barthalomay; and four brothers and 2 sisters.

Funeral services were held Feb. 10 from the Evangelical Church conducted by her pastor, Rev. Geo. Scheible and the remains laid to rest in the Evangelical Cemetery at Crystal Lake.
