Lieut. Joseph Shaver , Civil War Veteran , Officer of Co.I , 149th Bucktails. In action at The Battle of Gettysburg, North Anna River, Cold Harbor, Petersburg,& Hatchers Run. He was a comrade in arms to Capt. Daniel C.M. Appleby of the same Co., who is laid to rest only 40 paces to the north. Wounded in battle by a shell fragment to the head @ Cold Harbor,Va. June 2nd 1864.
