On July 30, 2010 of Arlington, VA. Beloved life companion of 40 years of Barbara Guenther; father of Donna Fox, Michael, Barry and Keith Leatherwood; grandfather of five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren; brother of Aline Cooper and Madge Robinson. He was like a dad to Robbie Guenther and Shelly Platz. He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his former wife Kathleen E. Leatherwood and his son Hal J. Leatherwood Jr. "Tom". Hal served for the US Air Force during WWII. He was also a devoted member of the American Legion Post 139 and of the Better Sports Club of Arlington. Friends may visit the Murphy Funeral Home of Arlington, 4510 Wilson Blvd. on Thursday August 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 3304 N. Washington Blvd., Arlington, VA 22201 on Friday, August 6 at 11 am. Inurnment to follow at Columbia Gardens.
