Opened in 1834 and closed in 1966 Wesleyan Methodist Cemetery at Cheetham Hill was once considered by the wealthy merchants of North Manchester as the place to be buried.Since it's closure in 1996 it became neglected, overgrown & vandalised.It once heald huge fancy memorial stones at the graves of the wealthy.Eventually the standing headstones became an attraction for vandals who seemed to get some perverted pleasure from pushing them over and spraying graffiti on them.The decision of allowing the land to be sold to property developers & help in the disposal of it Manchester City Council gave planning permission for a shopping center to be built on the site.In 2003, developers in their greed & against much opposition, exumed the remains of 20,000 bodies,which were then re-intered in a mass grave at Bury, Lancashire. Unfortunately no record of the names was ever kept.

We start with the On Line Parish Church records of the Marriage of John Fielding of Accrington and Ann Haworth of Accrington 24 February 1789 at the St James Church, Accrington, England. I believe this to be Borleas parents. Then Baptism: 6 January 1793 Cathedral, Manchester, Lancashire, England of Borlase Fielding - Son of John Fielding & Ann...Then Marriage: 14 September 1817 St. Mary the Virgin, Eccles, Lancashire, England Burleas Fielding 23 of this Parish and Sarah Howarth 22 of this Parish. This ALL is a historical guess.No marriage licenses or birth certificates were issued before 1823. Reading all the options in the Parish Church records, this seems to be the most logical.
Now the FACTS: I posess the death certificate for Borleas. I checked the 1841 Census and found Sarah Fielding and her children with the same address on Borleas death certificate. The Death Certificate of Sarah further documents she was the widow of Borleas Fielding. They had 6 children and owned a "Pub". I was not able to obtain birth certificates on the children, but I do have baptismal records from the Collegiate Church. I do have marriage licenses on all the children, which in fact, links them to these parents.
