Eleanor R. Feeley of Coatesville

Eleanor R. Feeley, 88, of Coatesville, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2012 at Neighborhood Hospice of West Chester.

She was the loving wife of the late Hugh P. Feeley, with whom she had shared 44 years of marriage at the time of his passing.

Born in Chester, she was the daughter of the late Fred E. and Elisabeth Dunlap Ruby.

She was a 1942 graduate of Ridley High School, where she was very active. She was a member of the basketball team and was captain of the cheerleading squad. She was known to have a beautiful soprano voice, and sang in many of the school's operettas. Mrs. Feeley was employed in the human resources department with CTDI for ten years. Prior to that, she worked for Beloit Eastern, Brown Brothers Contractors, and R. F. Weston. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Downingtown. She was an avid tennis player.

She is survived by her daughter, Elisabeth F. Mendenhall and her husband, Corbin C., Jr., and son, David Feeley and his wife, Mary Ann, of Lyndell. Also surviving are grandchildren, Corbin C. Mendenhall, III, Ryan P. Feeley and wife, Kelly, Kelly E. Mendenhall, and William D. Feeley; and by great-grandson, Conor P. Feeley. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Paul Feeley.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Ave., Downingtown, where family and friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m.

Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Neighborhood Hospice of West Chester, 400 E. Marshall Street, West Chester, PA 19380.
