MRS BLASSINGAME DIES; RITES TODAY AT COLORADO CITY
COLORADO CITY ~~ Mrs. Sallie Blassingame, 88, of Colorado City died in Wichita Falls early Tuesday morning after a brief illness. She was visiting a daughter in Wichita Falls.
She was born November 10, 1871 in Kossuth, Mississippi, but had lived in Colorado City for 33 years.
She was a Methodist and married Woody Lee Blassingame in 1887. He died in 1916.
Funeral will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Kiker and Son Chapel with the Reverend Clarence Collins officiating. Burial is to be in the Colorado City Cemetery.
She is survived by her step-mother, Mrs. J. H. Collins of Corinth, Mississippi; two sons, H. C. of Colorado City and J. M. Blassingame of Ladonia; three daughters, Mrs. R. B. Long and Mrs. Luke Long both of Colorado City, Mrs. Frank Charles of Wichita Falls; a sister, Mrs. Hugh Hammons of Corinth, Mississippi; 26 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
