Boston HR 1719-22, 24, 25; Council 1730-33; selectman 1719- 23; ART 1699; married Sarah Bronsdon (c1682-1762) in 1702; 15 children; merchant. Regarded as wealthy. As a Boston representative, he was always very active in the HR, but his hostility toward the administration drew a rejection by the governor for the Council in 1722.
