MAPLE HILL NC - David William Aikens, 81, of Maple Hill, died Jan. 29, 2012, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3 at Johnson Funeral Home, Jacksonville with Gary Silence officiating. Interment follows at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Silence Aikens of Maple Hill; sons, Chris B. Aikens and David R. Aikens, both of Kingman, Ariz.; daughter, Donna Aikens Lee of Jacksonville; brother, Arthur "Butch" Aikens of Punta Gorda, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2 at the funeral home.
